The Song-Mad Sea

Oh, good hunt- oh nevermind. Im a Mariner. This here is my Albatross. It's wary of weapons so keep your distance. I'm here to keep you alive.

Where are we ? Hell. Or, some kind of Nightmare. We all had the dream. The White Whale. Too many Eyes.

 The ocean is endless, the night too. The ships are overrun with beasts, but there are survivors. You'll need them, so try to be friendly. Best not look into the water too long, there's worse down there, in the Depths. 

How do we wake up?  I hope you find a way. 

Welcome to the Song Mad Sea, a Bloodborne-inspired TTRPG about nightmares and survival against all odds. Fight mutated beasts with trick-weapons, explore mazelike ships the size of small cities, uncover the secrets of the nightmare and maybe... find a way to wake up again.

Awaken to the Nightmare

You aren't special. You are a normal human, faced with inhuman odds. The nightmare will flay your mind and twist your body unless you resist. Take the skills you have from your waking life and turn them into weapons to fight the monsters that stalk you, or aid your fellow survivors in staving off the nightmare. You can not do this alone. You will need to Craft Items and Weapons to overcome the odds. Explore the Hulks, City-sized ships adrift on the nightmare's endless ocean, to uncover the secrets of the nightmare, or simply to keep yourself alive just a little bit longer. 

Traverse the Ocean

Slay the toughest of monsters, and play Songs of the Depths to summon new Hulks to explore. You have the Mariner on your side, and they will guide you beyond what others survivors can achieve. Each Hulk brings new challenges, and new survivors and their stories. 

Wake up. Or die trying. 

Current version of the game only features the core book, including the major mechanics, character creation and combat system. This has been a passion project and is built by the most untrained of hands. Should it receive some support, further updates will feature  downloadable character sheets, weapon cards, templates for creating Hulks and major landmarks within them, and maybe even fully illustrated adventure Modules. 

I had an unnecessary amount of fun designing, playtesting and refining this so far, and I put it out here in the hopes of sharing that joy. I hope you find it as thrilling to play as my friends and I do.
